Technology Manager - Arla Foods, Aarhus [Denmark]

We are currently looking to recruit a Technology Manager to join our Global Engineering & Technology team that is based in Aarhus, Denmark. In this role you will report to the Senior Engineering and Technology Manager, and you can expect up to 30 % travel domestically and to our European sites.


About the role

As our new Technology Manager, you will be responsible for developing and building the Global Technology platform to secure alignment across our European Production Sites. You will be driving the definition and implementation of selected processing technology standard equipment to be used when purchasing equipment for the production sites. The technology standards are safe, efficient and fit for purpose technical solutions. Furthermore, you will be sourcing, qualifying and supporting the implementation of new technology on selected sites.

In the job it is your task to gather inputs from the wider Supply Chain organization, Quality & Food Safety, Technology Innovation, Procurement, Suppliers and combine them with your knowledge into Technology solutions to provide technical support across multiple CAPEX projects.


In addition, you can look forward to the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Provide deep and broad technical support and technology expertise to sites in support of identifying quality and performance improvements
  • Identify and development the next generation equipment technologies in support of the company’s innovation, safety & food safety, productivity and sustainability strategies
  • Build and maintain a community of technical experts across the organisation on their selected equipment technologies to drive the technologies forward
  • Driving knowledge & engineering expertise by networking with internal & external stakeholders

Who are you

To be successful in this role we believe you have a BSc. or MSc. degree in or Mechanical Engineering or similar. You also bring 5 years of work experience from technical roles, delivering complex technical projects. Further you demonstrate cost consciousness, good communication skills, and diplomacy that will promote good relations internally as well as with external suppliers.

In addition, we search for candidates who can tick most of the following boxes:

  • Experience with designing/scoping full manufacturing lines/systems
  • Experience with the key equipment technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and operate in a collaborative cross-functional teams environment
  • Team player with strong stakeholder management skills and leadership abilities, enabling you to build networks and drive decision making throughout the organisation
  • Fluency with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, PowerBI
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) ; knowledge of Danish/Swedish/German/Dutch would be considered as a plus

  • Food/FMCG industry experience preferred with dairy experience as a plus
