ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for a Primary Supply Chain Development Manager to join our team in Heidelberg.
The role of SC Development Manager serves the function on leading the continuous improvement agenda across the markets and managing materials planning for certain locally sourced material for the 5 manufacturing plants in BAT’s Sub-Saharan Area (South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe).
The person on the role will also understand the end-to-end primary supply chain process and BAT portfolio of products and materials to be able to lead the development and coordination of optimization activities within the supply chain and product portfolio largely driven through project work on a yearly basis. On a day-to-day basis the role will manage the local materials planning team, the supply network pillar coordinator and will be the supply chain single point of contact for New Product Launches (NPIs).
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
3LP Performance Management
- Run successful Idea Generation Forum (IGF) and Loss Analysis (LA) sessions
- Drive productivity projects to meet savings targets set out by the business
- Essure inventory availability within policy for materials under their responsibility
- Material supplier management for materials under their responsibility via Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process with the procurement team.
- Ensure Slow and Obsolete (SLOBs) management within agreed KPIs
- 90-day planning and drumbeats delivered OTIF
Continues Improvement and Governance
- Coordinate savings initiatives
- Coordinating projects that vision reduction of # SKUs
- Coordinating projects that vision reduction of the stock of raw material
- Implementation of projects in the areas of materials planning, storage, portfolio, transport etc.
- Responsible for standardizing methodologies and facilitate project selection within areas
- Consolidate and track initiatives within the area
- Influence co-planning process by ensuring savings are sustained via project owners
- Manage documentation control, reference and reporting for warehouse
Finance
- Manage and report material supplier accounts
- Responsible to compile and present business cases for strategic initiatives
- Track and report progress and track against budgets and owned projects
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Degree in Chemical / Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Finance
- Around 5 years' experience in Supply Chain / Distribution Environment, with around 2 years' experience in a managerial position
- Project Management experience
- 3PL management (Third Party Logistics)
- Budget Management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong Leadership capabilities and team player
- Strong Analytical and Quantitative skills
